Camp Bob for the Queen City is a special little haven within the Kanuga complex in Hendersonville, NC, where our campers can have fun, try new things, and simply be kids completely free of charge to their families. Since the summer of 2023, our staff and volunteers have worked together to grow Camp Bob for the Queen City into a place where campers feel safe, supported, and at home. At the heart of Camp Bob for the Queen City are our four core values: Faith, Hope, Love, and Adventure. With these values as the focus of all we do, we provide a meaningful camp experience for the deserving youth of Charlotte, NC, supporting students from the Greater Enrichment Program, Refugee Support Services, and Freedom School Partners. Each day is filled with cabin activities, camper-chosen activities, and time for the whole camp to come together. We’re grateful for the continued support of our sponsors, donors, and partnering organizations whose dedication and generosity have helped make Camp Bob for the Queen City what it is today.

The Bob Campbell Youth Campus was built in 1999 on the Kanuga property as their space dedicated to community outreach. Following its construction, Camp Bob quickly becoming a highly successful 8-week nonprofit summer camp program serving 8 different site groups of campers each summer, one of these site groups being The Greater Enrichment Program. Camp Bob thrived in this format for two decades before the COVID-19 pandemic forced summer camp programs to halt all operations.
Upon re-opening a few years later, a call to action was sent out to the many individuals touched by this program. Kanuga was ready for Camp Bob to be revived, but they needed help to do so. That's where we came in! With the guidance of previous Camp Bob Directors and Kanuga leadership, we were given the opportunity to breathe life back into this beautiful program and mission. While a lot changed since its first year and there is still much more growing to be done, we pride ourselves in holding true to the core values and goals of the Bob Campbell Youth Campus, and we hope to offer our program as a template for others interested in utilizing this magical space for its intended purpose of giving back.
