We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to offer a fun and safe place for our campers to spend a week of their summer. The community we cultivate in just a week, and how close we all become in such a short amount of time, is beyond belief. I never attended a sleep-away camp when was younger, and when I got the opportunity to be a counselor our first year, I jumped at the chance. To be able to relate to campers who may have never been to sleep away camp or even a friend’s house for a sleep over, was very helpful to make them feel comfortable and understood. The opportunity to help make Camp Bob for the Queen City happen each year, with some of the hardest working and truly amazing counselors and leadership, has been a privilege. From counselors, volunteers, and campers we’ve had since year one, to the campers, volunteers, and counselors that join us each year along the way, we have cultivated a wonderful experience and community. I am lucky to work with each and every person who comes to camp and gets to make life long memories. I have made life long friends and incredible connections, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself.
