In January of 2023, Amy Loeber and Dominick Medico were given the opportunity to co-direct Camp Bob for the QC, and after their first camp session, a fire was lit in their hearts to continue this amazing work. Amy grew up in Charlotte, NC and spent her summers at Camp Wayfarer in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. For her, summer camp quickly became a truly magical home away from home where she learned lifelong lessons, created core memories, and experienced what it meant to be her true and authentic self. Throughout her life, Amy crossed paths with Camp Bob and the Greater Enrichment Program many times as her dad, Ken is President of the GEP Board and volunteered at Camp Bob for many years. Dom grew up in Sarasota, FL in the Boy Scout program and now holds the title of Eagle Scout. Summer camps were a frequent and cherished part of his childhood as well where he was given the freedom to explore, collaborate, try new things, and meet new people. These are moments and memories that Amy and Dom will cherish forever and that they hope to facilitate for the campers they now serve.
Amy and Dom both moved to Jacksonville, FL in the Summer of 2017 to attend college at the University of North Florida where they met. Currently, Dom works as a custom woodworker, craftsman, and Project Manager for Concrete Commander. Amy spent several years working with children and teaching at Montessori Tides School before shifting gears to work in School Administration with a focus on school safety and staff culture. Her role at camp led her to seek further experience with non profit event coordination, so she transitioned to work for the National MS Society as the Coordinator of Fundraising, Community & Endurance Events for the Florida chapter.
When offered the opportunity to create this experience for the next generation and pay forward all of the amazing memories and lessons that were bestowed upon them at summer camp onto their own group of campers, they couldn’t have been more excited! They are so grateful for the continued trust and support from the Camp Bob for the QC community and look forward to another incredible year at camp!
